Buttocks Augmentation – Lift and Contour Commonly referred to as the “Brazilian Butt Lift” or “Miami Thong Lift,” both augmentation procedures shape the rear by using your own body fat which results in a full and natural appearance. Correction of Breast Asymmetry Women who have natural asymmetry of their breasts (one is visibly larger than the other) can correct the imbalance by using their own tissue to balance the appearance. Asymmetry can happen naturally and can also result from breast surgery.

Augmentation Procedures

Patients may use their tissue or cells for a variety of procedures as well as for other therapies.

If you are having lipoplasty, you can schedule an augmentation procedure same day, and/or choose to store your tissue and schedule the augmentation procedure for a later date after you have healed from the surgery. For patients doing same day transfer and augmentation procedures, it is recommended to store any unused tissue to have a resource for ‘fine tuning’ the results after a few months. The tissue can be stored and used to smooth and perfect the results of liposuction, abdominoplasty [tummy tuck], breast reduction, breast augmentation, or other procedures. Breast Augmentation You can use your own adipose tissue for breast augmentation, with or without an implant. Use of your own adipose tissue alone, or as an adjunct to an implant, can increase the natural look and feel after augmentation. Lip Augmentation – Fuller, Plumper Lips Lips can be augmented with your own tissue to look fuller and have a plump, shapely quality. And use of your own tissue can result in a more natural feel compared to other fillers.

Who Stores Stem Cells

CSCC provides the highest quality cryopreservation services for adipose tissue and stem cells, enabling patients to use their own natural tissue in cosmetic treatments, augmentation procedures, reconstructive surgery, and potential use in the emerging field of regenerative medicine and cell therapy. Anyone can collect and bank their adipose tissue, but a number of procedures provide a convenient opportunity to save your own tissue and unique stem cells for future use:

Lipoplasty (Liposuction) Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) Body Contouring (Fat Transfer) Lipoinjection (Fat Grafting) Brachioplasty (Arm Lift) Breast Reduction (Augmentation)

How it Works

Step 1 – Collection Collection requires no change to your scheduled procedure. Your doctor will use a CSCC Collection Kit to collect and prepare your tissue for shipment Your unique Bar Code ID and Data Collection Form are included in your kit.

Step 2 – Shipment Your tissue sample is shipped by your doctor, priority overnight, to CSCC’s laboratory. Temperature-stable medical foam kit construction protects your tissue during transport. Real-time tracking and monitoring take place during transport.

Step 3 – Processing Your Kit ID is scanned upon receipt at the lab and an assessment of cell count is performed. Your tissue is processed in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Our proprietary processing method results in long-term viability of your tissue and cells.

Step 4 – Cryopreservation Our computer-controlled technology slowly lowers your tissue to cryogenic temperatures. Your tissue and cells are put into specially designed cryo-bags Your tissue and stem cells are available to you and your doctor at any time upon request.

Uses for Your Tissue

CSCC offers two sizes of kits for collection of your tissue and stem cells. The Small Kit is used when smaller amounts of tissue are collected such as in Fat Transfer, Arm Lift or Thigh Lift. For other procedures, such as Tummy Tuck, Liposuction or Breast Reduction, a Large Kit may be used for a higher banking volume. For volumes over 240cc, multiple Large Kits may be used.

Cosmetic Procedures

Saving Your Tissue Can Help You Maintain a Youthful Appearance for Years to Come

Storing your tissue makes it easy and convenient for you to use anytime in the future. And using your own tissue and cells for correction of deep facial lines and wrinkles can provide dramatic and lasting results, with minimal risk of adverse reactions. Using your own natural cells in cosmetics can help maintain a youthful appearance by restoring volume and improving skin tone in many areas.

Rather than using a synthetic chemical filler to soften facial lines and wrinkles, you can fill the lines with your own healthy tissue and cells. The chemical is inactive. In contrast, using your own tissue and cells replaces the lined areas with living tissue that regenerates new cells and blood vessels, restoring a youthful tone to your skin while softening the facial lines and wrinkles. It is important to remember that different patients respond best to different approaches and some doctors use both chemical and natural fillers together.

When your doctor requests some of your tissue for use, CSCC performs a process called “cell enrichment”, which removes unnecessary fluids and concentrates the density of active cells to help ensure the best result. Researchers believe that the adipose cells release different types of natural substances that send signals to increase blood flow and give rise to healthy skin cells.

Breast Asymmetry

If only one breast is affected, it alone may be reconstructed. To create a balance in appearance and structure, a breast lift, breast reduction or breast augmentation may be recommended for the unaffected breast to improve symmetry of the size and position of both breasts. Use of adipose tissue is recommended in patients who require corrections in asymmetry.

Bone Reconstruction

Recent advances have been published using adipose stem cells, combined with other growth factors, to regenerate bone tissue for reconstruction in skull surgery.

Reconstructive Surgery

Using Your Own Adipose Tissue and Stem Cells

A fat graft, also called autologous adipose tissue transplantation, uses a patient’s own adipose tissue to increase the volume of fat in the area of reconstruction. The use of adipose tissue promotes three-dimensional reconstruction in patients who have undergone a traumatic or post-surgical event such as a mastectomy or lumpectomy, brain surgery, or who are in need of reconstructive surgery as a result of an accident or injury.

Breast reconstruction is achieved through several plastic surgery techniques that attempt to restore a breast to near normal shape, appearance and size following mastectomy. A patient’s adipose tissue and stem cells can be used in breast reconstructive surgery. Names of procedures such as TRAM flap, DIEP flap and others use a patient’s adipose tissue, minor muscles and connective tissues taken from the abdomen to transplant onto the breast site. This procedure is preferred by some breast cancer patients because it combines a mastectomy with an abdominoplasty, and allows the breast to be reconstructed with one’s own tissue, either alone or with an implant.

Regenerative Medicine

Bio-Insurance with your Adipose Stem Cells

Step into the near future of medicine and stem cells. The cells in your adipose tissue can regenerate new, healthy cells for cosmetic benefit, but they also have significant value in a new field of medicine called Regenerative Medicine, where doctors use your own cells to help regenerate or repair parts of your body. Adipose Stem Cells can differentiate and become many different type of cells. (see below)

Today, although there are currently no FDA approved treatments with stem cells, exciting advances are taking place in the use of Adipose Stem Cells for regenerating bone, tendons, and cartilage. Doctors are seeing early success with Adipose Stem Cells in regenerating healthy heart tissue following a heart attack.

Having your own cells available has been referred to as a type of ‘bio-insurance’ for other health problems, and the cells should remain useful for decades. While regenerative medicine is still in the clinical trial stage in the US, your adipose tissue can be preserved now for your use in future treatments. Storing your cells now is important because younger, healthy cells are more vigorous than cells collected later in life, so storing today is better than tomorrow.

Stem cells from Adipose Tissue are pluripotent and can differentiate into tendon, ligament, bone, cartilage, cardiac, nerve, muscle, blood vessels, fat, and liver tissue.
