Stem cell center chooses Gilbert, AZ as location for cord blood collection and storage facility

“The Celebration Stem Cell Centre is moving to Gilbert, joining a state becoming known for biomedical research.  The center will be the Valley’s first umbilical-cord blood bank, which is drawing the attention of medical researchers from near and far.”

The construction costs for the facility are being financed by Sherry and Bill Lund of Paradise Valley. Sherry Lund said in a recent interview, “There’s a lot of research being done right now with cord blood.  We just don’t have enough of it.”

Stem Cell Uses

Stem cells are being used in clinical trials to treat:
cerebral palsy
leukemia,
aplastic anemia

And could potentially treat

Parkinson’s disease
Alzheimer’s disease
multiple sclerosis
strokes

The medical community and health care innovation researchers at Arizona State University are excited to have another piece of the bioscience industry represented in Arizona.
